Today, we will discuss the Top 5 Tornado Prone Areas in the World. Well, what a tornado, exactly is it? It’s a very destructive and violent rotating wind which looks more like a funnel causing a large storm. Several countries have experienced deadly tornadoes numerous times, causing substantial damage to the area. They can be as deadly and disastrous as any other natural disaster. Thousands of people in this world have lost their lives and even their family members and close ones, because of these tornadoes!

There are areas which are highly prone to these and we will be talking about all of them in detail!

Here is the list of some of the countries in the world which have faced deadly tornadoes in the past years and are highly prone to the same!

1. The United States

Well, it leads the country to have faced the highest number of tornadoes to date. Each year, it faces an average of 1200 tornadoes. To use precise, it usually occurs in the Mid-west and South-east of the US. One of the deadliest and worst tornadoes that have occurred in this country, was in 1974. This was when more than 350 people passed away because of this natural disaster.

2. New Zealand

Each year, New Zealand faces an outbreak of 10 disastrous tornadoes on average. Even though it covers short distances, it causes huge damage to that particular area. The worst record has been the tornado that occurred in 1948 in Hamilton. Three people lost their lives and more than 160 houses were damaged.

3. Canada

Between March and October, this country faces an outbreak of 90 tornadoes on an average basis. Back in 1912, a disastrous tornado had occurred in Regina city which damaged the churches, and central library and also killed more than 25 people.

4. Argentina

On an average basis, Argentina faces 7 tornadoes every year. The worst and most deadly one happened back in 1973 in San Justo. It took away the homes of several people with 54 of them who lost their lives. Before that, another tornado also took place which overturned a train, causing injuries to many passengers.

5. Bangladesh

The houses in Bangladesh aren’t well constructed. This is one of the major reasons for which tornadoes affect this country dangerously. Not to forget to mention, it also has the worst record. It was on 26 April 1989, that it happened and took away the lives of 1300 people living in the area. Moreover, 12,000 people managed to save themselves by sustaining injuries and thousands of people turned homeless.
