Today, we will discuss the Top 5 Biggest Volcano Mountains. Little did you know, there are a total of 1500 volcanoes in our world. However, not all of them are created equally. Here, we will discuss some of the biggest volcano mountains along with their heights and everything in detail.

Top 5 Biggest Volcano Mountains

The list of some of the biggest volcanoes in the world is as follows:

1. Mount Kilimanjaro 5,895 m

The topmost biggest volcano mountain is Mount Kilimanjaro, located in Tanzania. It stands tall with a height of 5,895 metres and the type is a strata volcano. It has three volcanic cones, named Mawenzi, Shira and Kibo respectively. However, the former two are extinct. But, the topmost peak- Kibo is highly dormant. It can erupt again.

2. Popocatepetl Volcano 5,426 m

The list includes Popocatepetl volcano, ranking second with a height of 5,426 metres. It is situated in central Mexico. This volcano has erupted in October 2019 at a night numerous times. The city has over 20 million inhabitants and this volcano mountain is pretty much threatening to each one of them.

3. Mauna Loa

Located in Hawaii, United States, Mauna Loa ranks third based on the biggest volcano mountains, with a height of 4,169 metres. Talking specifically about its location, Mauna Loa is situated in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. It is outrageously active. Since 1843, it has erupted 33 times to date.

4. Mount Fuji

Even if you haven’t visited it, Mount Fuji is famous to all. Located in Japan, standing at a height of 3,776 metres has become quite attractive when it comes to tourist spots. Even though it has erupted back in 1708, Mount Fuji is still now an active volcano.

5. Mount Semeru 3,676 m

Last, but not least, with a height of 3,676 metres, Mount Semeru is an active volcano, situated in the East Java province of Indonesia. Last year, on 4 December, it erupted after high precipitation because of collapsing of the lava dome at the top.

Even though each of the above-mentioned mountains appears pretty good, for which tourists are highly attracted. But, when erupts, several lives are lost.
