Twitter Bans Misleading Climate Change Advertisements
This platform, Twitter has disagreed on monetizing climate denialism and misleading advertisements. The Climate crisis has become a major topic in recent years and it shouldn’t affect the conversations. Such an approach has been informed by several sources of authority like the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Assessment Reports. This banning news has been declared on Earth Day, 22 April 2022. If we want to save our planet, then in the coming days, we will have to work on sharing our work to add reliability to the climatic change contexts appearing on Twitter. Not to forget to mention, that it has now aimed to be using only carbon-neutral power sources as the centres for data, by the end of this year. Most probably, Twitter will switch to renewable energy sources for increasing investments in carbon-removal technology.
Earlier, platforms like Pinterest, Facebook, Tiktok, and Google have also announced to prohibit the users who deny climate change and share misleading information about it. Not just banning but also the decision of removing the denial posts was made. Now, to make things better, Twitter has also joined the EU climate pact with a proper commitment to delivering numerous reliable and authoritative climate change information and the context in the coming months.
Hopefully, it will work in a better way and make people highly dependent on reliable news from these platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Google, etc. Now, we can expect loads of positive changes in the coming days, that is to be initiated by the platforms themselves.
