Good day!
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports a depression over East Rajasthan and northwest Madhya Pradesh, with a low-pressure area over southern Bangladesh. Expect significant weather impacts as this system brings heavy to extremely heavy rainfall across several regions.
In the coming days, intense rainfall is anticipated in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and West Madhya Pradesh. Red alerts are issued for these areas due to the possibility of very heavy rain.
Specifically, Gujarat is expected to see extremely heavy rainfall from August 26 to 28, while Saurashtra and Kutch may experience similar conditions until August 29. Konkan & Goa, along with Madhya Maharashtra’s ghat regions, are likely to see very heavy rain on August 26.
Moving on to other regions, widespread light to moderate rain is forecasted across East and Northeast India throughout the week.
Isolated heavy showers are predicted for Andaman & Nicobar Islands, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Arunachal Pradesh. Gangetic West Bengal, Mizoram, and Tripura will also experience isolated very heavy rainfall.
In Delhi, a generally cloudy sky with light rain is expected. The maximum temperature will be around 34°C, and the minimum will drop to 25°C.
For Gujarat, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in districts including Vadodara, Surat, Bharuch, and Navsari, with the possibility of extremely heavy rain continuing until Tuesday morning. In Rajasthan, very heavy rainfall exceeding 200 mm is anticipated in Kota, Udaipur, and Jodhpur divisions through Monday.
Odisha will face heavy rainfall for the next three days due to a trough extending to the Bay of Bengal, with orange warnings in several northeastern districts.
