Good evening, Merseyside. It’s been a particularly soggy start to the week, with a yellow weather warning from the Met Office signaling heavy rain from midnight on Monday, September 23, until 11:59 PM the same day.
The downpours have brought with them potential disruptions, including hazardous driving conditions due to spray and flooding. There’s also a possibility of delays or cancellations to train and bus services, as well as a risk of home flooding and occasional power cuts.
As we move into the evening, the heavy rain is expected to gradually clear to the east. The weather will start to dry out in most areas, though cloudy skies will persist.
We could still see some scattered showers during the early hours of Tuesday, but temperatures will remain relatively mild, with a low of around 10°C.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, expect a day mostly marked by cloudy conditions and intermittent showers.
The showers will be quick-moving thanks to a brisk breeze, and we might enjoy some sunny intervals later in the day. Temperatures will be cooler, with a high of 14°C and a westerly breeze adding a chill to the air.
From Wednesday to Friday, the weather pattern will continue to evolve. Showers on Wednesday will intensify into longer spells of heavy rain overnight and into Thursday.
However, as we head into Friday, the rain is expected to ease, giving way to brighter skies and scattered showers. It will turn cooler with northerly winds making the air feel brisker.
Stay tuned for further updates and keep an umbrella handy as we navigate through this unsettled week.
