Explosions and Gunfire Target Israeli Embassies in Copenhagen and Stockholm

Police in Denmark and Sweden are investigating two separate incidents involving attacks on Israeli embassies.

In Copenhagen, three Swedish men were arrested on Wednesday in connection with explosions near the Israeli embassy in the Hellerup district.

The blasts, which occurred at 3:20 a.m., are believed to have been caused by hand grenades and damaged a building about 100 meters from the embassy, though no one was injured.

The suspects, aged 15 to 20, were apprehended on a train bound for Padborg and near the embassy. They are expected to face weapons possession charges.

The motive remains unclear, and authorities are investigating potential links to Iran and the Stockholm incident.

Meanwhile, in Stockholm, police responded to reports of a loud bang near the Israeli embassy on Tuesday evening. Officers confirmed that the embassy had been shot at, though no injuries occurred.

Investigators have launched a probe into the shooting, but no arrests have been made. Swedish police have not provided any details regarding a possible motive.

The shooting follows a similar incident in January when a hand grenade was found at the embassy.

Danish Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard described the Copenhagen explosions as “inherently serious” and noted that the investigation is ongoing.

Swedish Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer expressed concern over the shootings in both cities, stating that they would be closely monitored. Swedish security police, Säpo, have yet to comment on the investigation.
