Cyclone Biparjoy is now expected to make landfall between Mandvi in Gujarat and Karachi in Pakistan, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Initially moving northwest, the storm has shifted its course to a northeast direction and is anticipated to cross near Jakhau Port in Gujarat on June 15.
The precise timing and location of the landfall will become clearer in the coming days.
According to the IMD’s latest update, Cyclone Biparjoy will continue moving nearly northward until the morning of June 14, then turn northeast and land between Mandvi and Karachi by noon on June 15.
The storm is forecasted to intensify, with maximum sustained winds reaching 125-135 km/h and gusts up to 150 km/h.
In anticipation, Gujarat has been placed on high alert for heavy rainfall throughout the week.

To prepare, Gujarat has deployed National and State Disaster Response Force teams, and various military branches are on standby. Fishermen are advised to halt operations and return to shore.
Authorities are evacuating residents from vulnerable areas and preparing for potential damage, including destruction of houses, power disruptions, and crop damage.
