This weekend’s weather will bring a shift from the chilly start of autumn, with temperatures climbing up to 21°C in southern England. Autumnal sunshine will be widespread, offering a fine and mild weekend, according to the Met Office.
Saturday will bring sunny spells across England, Wales, and much of eastern Scotland, while Scotland and Northern Ireland may experience wet and windy conditions in the afternoon.
Temperatures in the southeast could reach 19°C to 20°C, with lighter winds making it feel more pleasant.
Midweek highs of 23°C are expected in the southeast, with mild autumnal conditions continuing.Overnight, rain is expected to move into northern England and north Wales, although it will weaken as it moves south into central parts of the UK.
Temperatures will remain mild, dropping to around 3°C or 4°C in some areas of southern England, which is less chilly than recent nights.
On Sunday, a mix of light rain and sunshine is forecast across northern regions. The south-east will likely see highs of 21°C again, with the rest of the country experiencing mid to upper-teen temperatures.
Rain will slowly move southwards, reaching Wales, the Midlands, and East Anglia later in the day. However, southern England and south Wales will continue to enjoy dry and bright weather.
As we head into next week, the settled conditions will persist, with most areas staying dry. The far north of Scotland may see occasional rain and cloud, but by midweek, temperatures in the southeast are expected to rise even further, potentially reaching 23°C by Wednesday.
