The Met Office has announced an unseasonably mild start to November, following a period where temperatures soared up to 7°C above the seasonal average.
This pleasant weather is expected to continue throughout the week, ensuring that Halloween festivities remain undisturbed by rain.
While temperatures are forecasted to drop as November progresses, the Met Office indicated that snow is not currently expected, which can be notoriously challenging to predict.
A representative from the agency stated, “The extended-range forecast for the first half of November suggests predominantly dry and settled weather, with a possible shift towards wind and rain by mid-month.”
Specifically, for the period from November 2 to 11, residents can anticipate “plenty of dry and settled weather,” along with the potential for fog and frost in certain areas.
The Met Office added that unsettled weather, characterized by increased rain and wind, is more likely to impact northern regions later in the month.
As for regional forecasts, London and the South East will enjoy a mix of cloud and sunshine, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 16°C on Wednesday.
The South West can expect dry conditions with some sunny intervals, while the Midlands will see clouds giving way to sunny spells.
In the Northeast, the day will start cloudy but will transition to brighter conditions by afternoon.
Meanwhile, Scotland will experience sunny spells and light winds, while Northern Ireland and Wales will also see a mixture of cloud and sun, maintaining mild temperatures around 15°C.
All-around, the month is anticipated to begin on a mild note, with the possibility of more unsettled weather as November unfolds.
