Glastonbury 2024 festivalgoers can look forward to favorable weather, with conditions set to be mostly warm and dry.
According to a Met Office update, the Worthy Farm site is expected to experience pleasant weather, with highs reaching between 25°C and 27°C on Wednesday, when attendees are setting up their tents. While the day will likely be dry, there’s a chance of a heavy shower, which is common in this unpredictable Somerset area.
As the festival kicks off on Thursday, weather conditions will be cloudier and slightly breezier, with the possibility of light rain in the afternoon due to a passing cold front.
However, by the main festival days from Friday to Sunday, featuring headliners Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA, the forecast looks promising.
The Met Office predicts dry days with sunny spells, light winds, and temperatures around 20°C to 21°C. Wind speeds are expected to remain below 10 mph throughout the weekend.
This forecast is a welcome change after a particularly wet few months in southern England, including the wettest February since 1836. From October 2022 to March 2024, southern England experienced its highest rainfall in any 18 months on record.
In addition to the music, the festival will feature performances from Shania Twain, LCD Soundsystem, and Little Simz.
Festivalgoers can also look forward to conversations with celebrities like Tilda Swinton, Florence Pugh, and Cate Blanchett at the festival cinema. Deputy Labour leader Angela Rayner will be at the festival as well, participating in a panel debate titled “Election 2024: A Change Is Gonna Come.”
